Race Rant:

Competitors are warned that aid support (water, gatorade support will be very limited)—it’s a trail run after all. At aid stations runners must re-supply themselves with fluids. Don't expect aid stations every 3k as in road races !

Expect to be running for a significant period of time between aid stations, while alone in rough country! For the Ultras, because of your 5am start, it will be dark at the beginning of the race. Headlamps and extra care on the dark trails to prevent trips, falls and sprained ankles is recommended.

It is further strongly suggested that competitors run with a group or friend! Please be aware that wild animals such as moose, bears, including grizzlies, cougars, and domestic animal encounters could occur--ie horses. Don't spook the horses!

All competitors are strongly advised to carry enough fluids (a 2L water pack is a good idea), gels and supplies to get to the next aid station with plenty to spare. Bear bells, Bear spray are good ideas.

  • -Be courteous to other hikers and trail users. This is a public hiking trail and WILL NOT BE CLOSED to other users during this event. Watch out for possible logging activity and vehicles when approaching the Takla Road water station location.
  • -Do Not litter or trespass onto private property. We will want to do this event again.
  • -Do not stray off the trail and you should be fine! If there are no markings telling you to turn DO NOT TURN!!!!!
  • -Carry a cell phone and leave the number with the race officials and on the sign in sheet.
  • -Turn the cell phone on.
  • -Pack out what you pack in.
  • -The race director will bring up the rear (marathon only to ensure all competitors are off the trail
  • -If for any reason you are unable to complete your event you must advise a race official or volunteer accordingly and sign out at the start /finish line before leaving the race site.
  • -All competitors must ensure they are signed out on the list before departing the race start finish area. This is to avoid an unnecessary search party being sent to look for you. (we will contact your emergency contact people if you do not sign out!)
  • -Take care for your own safety and enjoy this unique event
  • -NO, day of race entries are NOT possible!!!! Entry deadline is Friday, September 20th, 2013 @ 6 PM
  • -There will be place medals and finisher medals for the half and full marathon and belt buckles for the ultra (belt buckles are not available for purchase - you have to earn that sparky)
  • -The results will be posted on the MMM Website
  • -Muffins, cookies and Fruit will be available at the finish

This is a challenging and difficult course!!
If you are not sufficiently trained or in condition -- Don't kid yourself, pick another event.
